Lake Tenno Riva del Garda
A small fascinating lake, not far from Riva del Garda, Lake Tenno is a wonderful destination for a peaceful holiday
Lake Tenno is one of the most enchanting Alpine lakes, located just a few kilometres from the northern shore of Lake Garda.
The route for reaching Lake Tenno winds from the town of Riva del Garda to the Varone Waterfall.
After passing the waterfall, the road continues in the direction of Varone, passing the junction for Ceole and the Madonna delle Grazie sanctuary.
The lake, its water enchantingly turquoise in colour, is dominated by a small tree-filled island, which one can swim to fairly easily.
When you return to the car park, after climbing back up the stairs, take the path on the right that passes a rise (called “Mattoni”). Arriving at the cross, keep left and then take the path going downhill leading to the historic village of Canale, which features a few testimonies to the Middle Ages.
Once past Canale, return to the state road in the direction of Riva, enjoying a noteworthy panoramic descent to the shores of Lake Garda.
